The Everyday Mailbag-12/6/2011

There was plenty of big news this week with the BCS, the Tebow craze and other things as well. And with those exciting events and players, there are also questions. Without further adieu, here are the questions the sports world wants to know!

Q: Who do you think will win the Shortened NBA Season?
-Brandon T., Nashville, TN

A: I think the logical choices for the title will be the Heat and the Lakers, but I also believe its too early to tell right now due to the pending NBA free agent and trade movement coming up. Once rosters are mostly set, then I could probably give a more accurate pick there.

Q: Is Cam Newton a sure pick for Rookie of the year after breaking the QB single season rushing record?
-James R., Nashville, TN

A: I don’t think Cam Newton is a surefire pick for rookie of the year. Even though Cam has broke records, Bengals QB Cam Newton has won games. Simple and plain, he has been one of the catalysts of this team, along with AJ Green and that Bengal defense.

Q: After what we’ve seen in Chicago since Cutler went down, question is does backup QB Caleb Hanie have a future role as a backup in Chicago?
-Lee L., Chicago, IL

A: I think that Hanie is done in Chicago. I understand that he’s a backup, but in this instance, he hasn’t shown he can fill in for Cutler when they need him and to be honest, the Bears need to look for more stability in that position because the backup QB is only one play away. Who knows when this situation could arise again for Chicago.

Q: Why is it so hard for Tim Tebow’s critics to give credit where credit is due? Yesterday, Cris Carter looked like he’d rather vomit than admit tebow is winning.
-JW, Lafayette, IN

A: I actually think that folks are afraid of what they haven’t seen. People haven’t seen a QB like him be successful and I think it bothers the “experts” a whole bunch that someone unconventional as Tebow is winning.

Q: Do the Colts draft Andrew Luck & deal Peyton Manning or do they pay two quarterbacks a lot of money? Or do they deal the rights to Luck & get a lot of draft pick? ?
-James R., Nashville, TN

A: I think the Colts, if they get the 1st pick in the draft (which seems to be a certainty at this point) will draft Luck and possibly keep both QBs. That’s a small possibility, but a possibility nonetheless. In the end though, I think that if Peyton proves he’s healthy, he will be traded. But he has to prove he’s healthy first.

Q: ‎How will the Giants finish the season?
-Joey K., Los Angeles, CA

A: That depends on which Giants team shows up. If the one that played against the Packers shows up, they could win the rest of their games this year and win the division. If they appear like they did in New Orleans, they are done. I think the Giants will show fight and will make the playoffs due to the implosions of Chicago and Detroit right now.

Q: Do you think Jim Schwartz is on the hot seat in Detroit because of the lack of discipline shown by the Lions?
-Jeremy W., Winnepeg, Canada

A: I think Schwartz isn’t on the hot seat, but what he does need to do is make a statement with this team. A lot of times when these dumb penalties happen, Schwartz doesn’t discipline them about it. I would have liked Schwartz to have made a statement and send a player to the locker room or something. That would get the team’s attention I think that’s what has to happen.

Q: What do u think about the BCS title game?
-Jason J., Memphis, TN

A: I think the title game will be a hard-nosed, physical game and that special teams could make the difference again. On another note, a lot of fans are screaming that Oklahoma State should have been in the title game. To that I have one explanation. I believe they have one person to blame: Oklahoma State. They had their own destiny in their hands and then they lost to Iowa State. When that happened, doubt came into the picture and hope came into the picture for Alabama. In the end, doubt turned into reality for Oklahoma State and hope turned into jubilation for Alabama. I’m not saying the BCS is right or wrong, but what I’m saying is Oklahoma State should blame Oklahoma State first and not the BCS.

Thanks everyone for all the questions. And remember, if you have sports questions, I have answers.

The Everyday Mailbag-11/22/11

Leaves change color. Seasons change. But the Everyday Mailbag stays the same. Let’s see what the Sports World wants to know!!!!

Q: Does Bears QB Jay Cutler’s injury open up a Wild Card spot for an NFC East squad or will the Bears still make the playoffs?
-Drew N, Washington DC

A: To be honest, it possibly could. Before the season, I had two teams going to the playoffs from the NFC East. I will say that the Bears schedule isn’t terribly difficult going down the stretch, but without Cutler, things get tougher for Matt Forte and that whole offense. I still think they make the playoffs though.

Q: Should Vince Young start rest of the year over Michael Vick?
-Dallah S., Manhattan, NY

A: I think that its just one start and that’s an overreaction to Vince’s one start. Now I’m not doubting that Vince is a winner. He is. His record says so. If Vince was to start a string of games and wins, then I think there would be a QB controversy there. But with the money Vick is making and the fact that its just been one start tells me that Vick is the starter still in Philly.

Q: Can the Eagles make a late run at the NFC East title?
-Aaron J., Washington, DC

A: No. When they lost the game vs the Cardinals, there went their NFC East Title chances. The Eagles need to focus on winning two games in a row and getting themselves right first. The race is between the Cowboys and the Giants, not the Eagles.

Q: Will Norv Turner get fired before the end of the season?
-Joey K., Los Angeles, CA

A: Is water wet? I think its closing time for Norv in San Diego.

Q: What’s the next move for the Bears?
-Dallah S., Manhattan, NY

A: The next move for the Bears is to scour the waiver wire or the classifieds for a veteran backup QB. Caleb Hanie will be the starter. There’s no doubt about that. Former Ravens QB Marc Bulger could be a possible pickup. He has played in Martz’s system before and it wouldn’t take him long to catch on because of that familiarity.

Q: If Arkansas beats LSU, who plays for the BCS Championship?
-David D., Murfreesboro, TN

A: I think Arkansas would definitely be in the picture for the title. Now for the contender, I think it would be Alabama.

Q: Will the Eagles or Steelers make the playoffs this year? I’ve seen the Ravens schedule, they’re definitely going.
-Shatal J., Orlando, FL

A: I think the Steelers will definitely make the playoffs. As far as the Eagles, they have dug themselves a hole they cannot get out of.

Thanks for all the questions and remember, if you have sports questions, I have answers!!

The Everyday Man’s College Football Prediction- Week 10

Thursday is here and that means one thing: College Football is back upon us! Without further adieu, here are my select college football games for the weekend!

(10) Virginia Tech vs (21) Georgia Tech
The Hokies travel to the ATL to take on the Yellow Jackets of Gergia Tech. The Hokies are led by RB David Wilson and QB Logan Thomas. Expect the Hokies to attack the Yellow Jackets on the ground all game long with Wilson and Thomas. If the Jackets can stifle the Hokies on the ground, they have a huge chance to win this game. If not, the Yellow Jackets could be in trouble.

QB Tevin Washington must get on track this game. He has stumbled the last few games and opposing defenses have taken advantage of him. Washington must limit the turnovers and take advantages of the opportunities that the Hokie defense will give him. The thing about this game is the Hokies don’t give you a lot of opportunities. And that’s where Virginia Tech and their team will take advantage. Expect Virginia Tech to stop the run and run right at Georgia Tech.
Prediction: Virginia Tech 27, Georgia Tech 23

West Virginia vs (23) Cincinnati
The Mountaineers head to the Queen City to take on the Bearcats. The Moutaineers must get QB Geno Smith going this game. If he gets cooking, watch out Bearcats. But Cincy always has a pretty good defense and they are on a roll. It should be interesting to see which takes over on the field when these two units are on the field.

QB Zak Calleros has been every bit the senior leader for the Bearcats. He has ran and passed the Bearcats back from the relative unknown. They face a West Virginia defense that has taken a step back this year. Expect Calleros to continue the roll he is on. And expect the Mountaineers defense to be sucking wind all game long.
Prediction: Cincinnati 38, West Virginia 24

Wake Forest vs (9) Clemson
The Demon Deacons head to Death Valley to take on the Tigers, who will be looking to continue impressing and winning their game. Expect Wake Forest to come out and air the ball out. For Clemson, they must make things difficult for Wake. The more difficult they make it, the more mistakes Wake Forest will make.

For Clemson, its about one guy and one guy alone: QB Tahj Boyd. He is the key to everything they do. Yes, they have an ultra-talented freshman WR, but Boyd if the most important person on this team and that’s a fact. Expect him to slice and dice the Demon Deacon defense on their way to a big win in Death Valley.
Prediction: Clemson 41, Wake Forest 24

Florida vs South Carolina
The Gators head to Columbia to take on the Gamecocks. Expect offensive coordinator Charlie Weis to try and ease QB John Brantley into the game if he plays. Brantley must lean on the running game some this game to keep pressure off of Brantley. The problem with that is the behemoths that South Carolina has up front.

For South Carolina offensively, expect them to used the running-back by-committee approach to help QB Connor Shaw get comfortable. The battle in the trenches should be one to watch because of the outstanding players that Florida has on their defensive line against the big guys from Columbia. In the end, I don’t think Florida has enough offense to get it done.
Prediction: South Carolina 24, Florida 17

(20) Auburn vs (20) Georgia
The Tigers head to Athens to take on a red-hot Georgia team. QB Clint Mosely has been learning on the job during his time as a starter for the Tigers. Expect Georgia and defensive coordinator Todd Grantham to try to confuse Mosely and make him uncomfortable as well. RB Michael Dyer could ease some of the pressure off of Mosely if he’s able to run the ball well.

This Georgia team has seemed to rally around coach Mark Richt and has saved his job. Expect them to come out and run right at Auburn with Isaiah Crowell (if he plays) and use the play action pass with QB Aaron Murray. The Bulldogs have plenty of offensive weapons, so expect them to spread the ball around and eventually wear down an undermanned Auburn team.
Prediction: Georgia 34, Auburn 20

(7) Oregon vs (4) Stanford
This is the rematch most in PAC-12 land have been looking forward to all year. The Ducks are led by QB Darren Thomas. He has been a little off this year for some reason, but expect him to be more focused for this game. Also expect the running game and the tempo of the game to be key to who wins this game. Another person to keep an eye on is RB/WR DeAnthony Thomas. He’s their Swiss Army knife on offense and he will be all over the field.

The Cardinals are led by one make: QB Andrew Luck. Luck has been so lucky with some of the things he has done on the field this year, but he has been excellent this season still. Expect Luck and the boys to run and pass action pass the Ducks into submission. Also expect the TE’s to be big as well. In the end, Stanford will win this game because they will slow the tempo down and grind it out. And that’s something Oregon cannot do.
Prediction 31, Oregon 27

(2) Oklahoma State vs Texas Tech
The Cowboys head to Lubbock, Texas to take on the Red Raider as the try to find some answers. The Cowboys offense is extremely explosive with the likes of WR Justin Blackmon running down the sideline. If I’m Texas Tech, I make QB Brandon Weeden throw to someone else when he needs the big play. Shutting down these two studs in Blackmon and Weeden will be very difficult.

Texas Tech hasn’t got it together this year. They have been up and they have been down. Well, I expected them to be down worst that they have in a while and it happened. Will all the offense for the Cowboys, the Red Raider offense must show up and produce. If not, this game could really ugly really soon.
Prediction: Oklahoma State 45, Texas Tech 27

(19) Nebraska vs (12) Penn State
First off, before I talk about this game. I want everyone who reads this to take a moment of silence for the kids who were taken advantage of by former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky. Now, for the game. I don’t think there’s anyway these kids can stay focused. The Nittany Lions may be lifeless out there playing without their leader on the field. I expect Nebraska to come out and run right at Penn State.

I’m going to stop previewing this game right here. I feel sorry for the football players of Penn State that are caught up in this mess as well.
Prediction: Hopefully a good game for the Nittany Lion football players

(16) Texas vs Missouri
The Longhorn head to Columbia for the last time in conference. The Longhorns will come out and play well, especially with all the young talent that they have. Expect Missouri to try and put pressure on the running game to make the young Texas QBs have to make throws to win the game. The big question will be can the young QBs come through.

For Missouri, expect them to run and pass at this Texas defense. Now the question for them is can they be consistent? Can’t they put enough pressure to make the Texas defense have to search for answers to solve them? The answers to those questions are no. Expect the Texas defense to rise up and for Texas to give the Missouri Tigers a parting gift.
Prediction: Texas 38, Missouri 14

(3) Alabama vs Mississippi State
The Crimson Tide took a tough loss to a great LSU team last weekend and look to rebound in Starksville against an undermanned Bulldog team. Expect RB Trent Richardson to get back on track against the Bulldog defense. It won’t be easy, but he will release his fury on them. And when he does, expect the Bulldogs to crowd the line of scrimmage. And that’s when QB AJ McCarron will have to take advantage of single-coverage on his receivers. Will the Mississippi State defensive backs be up for the challenge?

Mississippi State has been struggling this year offensively. And after this game, expect their numbers to look even worse. Expect the Crimson Tide to tighten the screws even more and squeeze the life out of this offense. RB Vick Ballard, it could be a hard week for you man. The cold tub awaits you after this game.
Prediction: Alabama 30, Mississippi State 13

These are my predictions for this weekend in college football. Let the games begin and the healing begin at Penn State.

The Everyday Mailbag- 11/8/11

Lots of different sports going on. Lots of different sports questions as well. Without further adieu, here’s what the Sports World wants to know!

Q: What do you think about Lions DT Ndamukong Suh meeting with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell Tuesday?
-James R., Nashville, TN

A: I think that it just means that Suh is concerned about his image. Suh actually called up Goodell to make the meeting happen. I think its not that big of a deal.

Q: Who is your Final 4 in college basketball this year?
-Bobby C., Sacramento, CA

A: I’ve got the Syracuse Orange, the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Kentucky Wildcats and the Baylor Bears as my Final Four this year.

Q: How many games will the NBA play this season?
-Joey K., Los Angeles, CA

A: I think we will be lucky if the players take this offer. If they do, we will see 65-72 games. If they do not, I think we will see roughly around 55 games.

Q: Do you think Tim Tebow should be called a athlete playing quarterback ?? I’m not hearing that by the media! Why?
-James R., Nashville, TN

A: Whether Tebow is called an athlete playing QB or not, he is being judged on being a QB. I don’t think that whether he’s called an athlete or not will change the criticism he’s received. To be honest, I don’t think that’s the thing that media looks at in regards to him. That’s why it isn’t mentioned when they talk about him.

Q: Do think a rematch of Alabama and LSU will happen for the National Championship game?
-Kareem H., Nashville, TN

A: No sir. Alabama would have to have a lot of teams lose to get that rematch in my opinion. If Alabama would have won the game, then I would be confident in a rematch because LSU still has to play Arkansas and that would have helped catapult them in the BCS.

Thanks for all the questions. I look forward to more! And remember, if you have sports questions, I have answers!

The Everyday Man’s College Football Predictions-Week 10

I know its been a few weeks, but the college football predictions are back! Sorry for the absence. Without further adieu, here are my picks for my select games for this weekend in college football!

Texas A&M vs (6) Oklahoma
The Aggies head to Norman, Oklahoma as a conference rival for the last time. Expect the Aggies to use their running game, led by RB Cyrus Gray, to wear down the Sooners a little bit on the ground. Gray’s effectiveness will help make QB Ryan Tannehill more effective in the passing game with his array of weapons. We will see if the Sooners defense is up for the challenge of facing this explosive offense.

The Sooners are very explosive offensively. QB Landry Jones has some explosive weapons in the passing game with WRs Kenny Stills and Ryan Broyles. But the key weapon for Jones will be the running game. The Aggies defense has shown that they are inconsistent and I expect for that to continue this game. The Aggies offense could keep this game close for a little bit, but ultimately, the Sooners will pull away.
Prediction: Oklahoma 41, Texas A&M 27

(9) South Carolina vs (7) Arkansas
The funny thing about this game is that no one really knows these two top-ranked teams are playing this weekend. The Gamecocks face a major challenge heading to Arkansas, but Arkansas has had its problems stopping the run. Expect the Gamecocks to use the running game to attack the Hogs. If Arkansas stops the run, then QB Connor Shaw will have to step up and lead the team. He has the ultimate weapon on the field in WR Alshon Jeffrey to work with.

Arkansas has a few weapons of their own. They have one of the best QBs in the conference in Tyler Wilson and one of the best weapons in the conference in WR Jarius Wright. But they are going against an intimidating front four from South Carilina. Arkansas must protect the QB and come out with the intensity that has been lacking from them in the first halves of games recently. This game could go down to the wire, but I think the Hogs pull it out in the end. They have too much firepower.
Prediction: Arkansas 38, South Carolina 27

(19) Arizona State vs UCLA
The Sun Devils travel to the City of Angels to play a downtrodden UCLA team. The Sun Devils will attack the Bruins through the air with their multitude of weapons. Expect UCLA to put up some resistance, but they don’t have the horses to keep up with the Sun Devils. It should be interesting to see what things that UCLA does to try to thwart the Sun Devil attack.

The Bruins will lean heavy on the run game. And they must have success there due to the lack of production from the QB position. If not, the Sun Devil defense, led by All-America LB Vontaze Burfict, will make it a long day in California. They say it never rains in Southern California, but the Devils will rain points on the Bruins this weekend.
Prediction: Arizona State 38, UCLA 14

(14) Kansas State vs (3) Oklahoma State
Kansas State travels to Stillwater to take on a high-powered Cowboys team. The Cowboys are led by Brandon Weeden, an outstanding veteran QB with great touch and accuracy. And he’s got a great weapon to play with in WR Justin Blackmon. Expect these two to have another great day against this Wildcat defense. The Wildcats must get some sort of pressure on Weeden to even have a chance this game.

The Cowboys have one man and one man alone to stop: QB Collin Klein. He’s is their leading passer and also their leading rusher. Klein must have a big day for the Wildcats to stay close. If this game becomes a high-scoring affair, look for the Wildcats to fade as the game goes on. Eventually, the Cowboys will make another statement on national TV.
Prediction: Oklahoma State 48, Kansas State 21

(8) Oregon vs Washington
The Ducks head up to the Dawg Pound to face the Huskies. Expect the high-paced offense of Oregon to be on display. QB Darren Thomas must be more effective and accurate than the previous games. He’s been scuffling a little bit lately. As far as the running game, the three-headed monster at RB. These guys are explosive! Washington can only hope to try and limit their explosiveness. Its gonna be a tough task.

Washington is a young team on the rise. They have a lot of explosive parts as well. The trouble is, they will more than likely be playing from behind. They must be up for the challenge this week. It should be interesting to see what happens.
Prediction: Oregon 45, Washington 21

Vandy vs Florida
The Commodores head to the Swamp to take on the Florida Gators. The Commodores offense has gained more rhythm since Jordan Rodgers became the starting QB. Expect the Commodores new QB to have to make as many plays with his legs as his arms. He’ll have to because defensive lineman Jay Howard will be lurking and chasing him the whole game. Warren Norman must be effective as well. He is key to slowing down the rush of the Gators.

QB John Brantley proved to not be the answer to the Florida offensive lulls. He helped some, but he just could not get it done. In this game, he must come out and be effective in the passing game. He must also be careful with the football because the Commodore secondary, led by CB Casey Heyward, are very active and they are very opportunistic. The kep guy in this game will be RB/WR Chris Rainey. If the Gators get explosive plays out of him, they should be able to survive the tough Vandy defense. Expect this game to be close.
Prediction: Florida 23, Vanderbilt 17

Ole Miss vs Kentucky
The Rebels go to the Commonwealth to face the Wildcats in the game dubbed the Toilet Bowl. These two SEC teams have been downright offensive. Well, in this game, expect the Rebels to come out strong with QB Randall Mackey leading the way. Mackey will threaten the Wildcat defense with his running and throwing ability. Mackey teamed with RB Jeff Scott spells danger for Kentucky.

QB Morgan Newton has been underwhelming this year. For the Wildcats to have a chance, he must be focused and sharp. He has to make plays due to the injuries and overall ineffectiveness of the running game. Well, this game, the running game may be somewhat effective due to the lack of defense in Rebel Land. This game will not be pretty, but expect the Rebels to come out on top.
Prediction: Ole Miss 27, Kentucky 13

Texas Tech vs (21) Texas
The Red Raiders head to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns. The Red Raiders will put the ball up a bunch of times this game. For the Longhorns to stop the Red Raiders, they must get pressure on the QB. If not, xpect the Longhorns to have their hands full trying to stop Texas Tech.

The QB carousel has been working for the Longhorns this year so far. Expect them to continue to rotate QBs with Ash and McCoy. These guys are important to their success but ultimately, RB Malcolm Brown is the deciding factor in this game. If he is active and effective in the running game, expect this game to stay close and expect this game to slow down. In a slower pace game, the advantage goes to Texas.
Prediction: Texas 27, Texas Tech 21

(15) Michigan vs Iowa
The Maize in Blue head down the road to take on Iowa. QB Denard Robinson has been playing in his element the last few weeks. Robinson has been running the football more and finding more success. He must continue to run the ball with success this week and mix in the pass for big plays. It should be interesting to see if the Iowa defense is up for the challenge.

For Iowa, they must get it together in offensively. They have been inconsistent and must get back down to the basics. Expect Iowa to run the ball to set up the play-action pass. For Michigan, they must continue to improve defensively and keep the Iowa offense out of favorable down and distances. Expect Michigan to eventually come out on top. Speed kills.
Prediction: Michigan 30, Iowa 20

(1)LSU vs (2)Alabama
This game has been dubbed the Game of The Century. The Crimson Tide and Tigers come in rested and ready. Both teams are running teams. The telling sign will be which team will be able to stay on schedule. Will that be Alabama or LSU? The Tigers will be relying on RB Spencer Ware to get it done on the ground. It could be a tough night due to the tough Alabama defense. They are the third ranked defense in the FBS.

The Crimson Tide have one of the best weapons in college football in Trent Richardson. Richardson has a tough task as well. The LSU defense is top-ranked as well. Expect the LSU defense to force Crimson Tide QB AJ McCarron to make some plays. In the end, I believe that Saban will break out some new wrinkles to confuse LSU QB Jarrett Lee and the Alabama Crimson Tide will prevail at home.
Prediction: Alabama 20, LSU 13

These are my predictions for the weekend of college football! Hope you all enjoy the games!

The Everyday Mailbag-11/1/11

There was plenty of good football this weekend in the college and professional ranks. And with those games, some questions have arised! Without further adieu, here are the questions the Sports World wants to know!

Q: If you have the second pick in the NFL draft, who do you pick?
-Jeremy W., Winnipeg, Canada

A: Depends on what is needed with that pick. It looks like the Dolphins and the Colts are on a collision course to go get Andrew Luck. Whichever team gets him, expect the next team to take either an offensive lineman or a defender. As far as prospects for that pic, there’s plenty of those, but no one has really stands out as the second pick in the draft right now for me.

Q: Do you think Buckeyes can break into Top 25 by years end?
-Bobby C., Sacramento, CA
A: I think that for as good as the Buckeyes played the Badgers this weekend, they may not play that well again this season. The reason I’m saying this is because they have a young QB in Braxton Miller who is still learning and that doesn’t bode well for them in the area of consistency.

Q: Who do you have for the upcoming “Nick Saban” bowl this weekend?
-Kareem H., Nashville, TN

A: I think I’m gonna have to say Alabama. Both teams have incredible defenses, but one team has Trent Richardson. The other doesn’t. He’s the difference.

Q: Is the University of Tennessee recruiting in Tennessee I see a lot of 4 star prospects committing to other SEC schools?
-James R., Nashville, TN

A: They are. Trust me. Just not having great results. They have got C James Stone from in-state and also mammoth lineman Antonio Richardson from as well last year. Its still early. It wouldn’t surprise me if they get one of the big-time recruits in the end.

Q: Now that Patriots defense has been exposed, can they still stay on top of the ranks this season?
-Angie B., Elmont, NY

A: I think the Patriots are an interesting case. With the team they have, they depend on Brady. Brady has to be great for them to win. And usually, Brady is great, so expect him to keep them in the race. Also, each team in the AFC East has holes. The Bills aren’t consistent getting pressure on QBs. The Jets are inconsistent offensively. So, with that being said and looking at the rest of their schedule, they can stay atop the rankings in the NFL.

Thanks for all the questions this week! And remember, if you have sports questions, I have answers.

The Everyday Mailbag- 10/25/2011

Many games. Many questions. Many answers. Hopefully I won’t disappoint this week with my answers like the Baltimore Ravens did on Monday Night Football. Without further adieu, here are this week’s sports questions that the Sports World wants to know!

Q: What did u think of Tim Tebow’s performance and will he succeed?
-Michael C., Las Vegas, NV

A: I thought he had an uneven performance overall. Now in saying that, when it comes to winning time, he comes thru. He is a winner. Now he has to take the rest of his game to where his leadership abilities are. If he does that, then he will succeed.

Q: ‎How do you see the Chiefs finishing the season?
-Joey K., Los Angeles, CA

A: Good question. In the unpredictable AFC West, I still see them finishing second. I think either the Raiders or Chargers will win the division.

Q: What do you think about a one loss Alabama or LSU making it 2 the championship game?
-David D., Murfreesboro, TN

A: I think that could potentially happen and I would be fine with that. To me, these two teams have been the most consistently impressive teams each week. And it isn’t like they have been playing awful teams every week either.

Q: Do you see Green Bay losing at all this season? And if so, which team will hand them the first loss?
-Kareem H., Nashville, TN

A: I would like to say that I do see them going undefeated this season, but I would be lying. Now I’m not saying they’re not a great team, but I see one of two teams beating them this year: the Giants and the Lions, provided Stafford stays healthy.

Q: Do you think the BCS system is that bad?
-Bobby C., Sacramento, CA

A: I think it makes every game count but in the same instance, puts teams at disadvantages. Disadvantage is the way teams are ranked before the season starts hurts them at times. Another thing that you don’t see is teams battle it out to become the official national champ. I would like to see a tournament for that myself personally. The BCS is ok, but not great in my opinion.

Q: What’s wrong with the Titans?
-Dallah S., Manhattan, NY

A: I think the main things that are showing right now is they can’t stop the run and they can’t run the ball. I believe the Titans have to get back to being even more physical in their offensive line. Its not all Chris Johnson’s fault that the running game isn’t producing. Defensively, its all about making the right fits, taking the right angles and making the play. The Titans do those things and they will be fine.

Thanks for the questions everyone! And remember, if you have sports questions, I have answers!
