The Everyday Mailbag- 8/17/11

What’s up Sports Fans!! Its time for another edition of The Everyday Mailbag! Let’s see what the Sports World wants to know!

Q: What’s your opinion of Texas A &M joining the SEC? And is this the end of the Big 12?
-Jeremy W., Winnipeg, Canada

A: The Aggies were actually turn down by the SEC. Now do I think this is the end of talk of the Aggies coming to the SEC? No. I think they will eventually come to the SEC, just not right now because there wasn’t another team to bring with them so there could still be an even amount of teams in both divisions. As far as the Big 12, I think the end is very near. I think Texas will eventually become an independent like Notre Dame and then, the downfall will be started.

Q: Would it be a smart move for the SEC to add Texas A&M?
-Russ G., Walpole, MA

A: I think it would be good for the SEC only in helping bring more recruits for the Texas area and breaking the SEC into a new market that usually is following Big 12 football.

Q: Burress or Edwards? Did Jets make right decision?
-Andrew V., Frederick, MD

A: I think the Jets added veteran experience and lost some explosion. Plaxico has the potential to dominate at stretches of the game, but he’s not as explosive as Braylon Edwards can be. Edwards and the now-departed Brad Smith were very explosive players for the Jets last year. I think that if they were going to acquire Derrick Mason, then they should have kept Edwards for his explosiveness, even though he’s inconsistent. Plax is going to take a while to knock some of the rust off.

Q: I know basketball season is a loooooonnnnggggg way away. But how do you think the Memphis Grizzlies will do this year?
-Jason J., Memphis, TN

A: I see them being right where they were this year, fighting for a playoff spot. The difference is, this year they won’t sneak up on anyone.

Q: Do you think CJ is wrong for wanting QB money?? Or do you think he should b satisfied with being the highest paid RB??
-Jason J., Memphis, TN

A: I think its all in bargaining. Do I think CJ gets QB money? No. But he does deserve to be paid. In a league where RBs careers are the most short-lived, I understand his plight and I don’t think he’s wrong.

Q: What do you think about the Titans preseason game ? Or was it just a preseason game ?
-James R., Nashville, TN

A: I think the preseason games don’t mean much until the last one. That’s when u see more of what a team is going to be.

Thanks for all the questions sports fans. And remember, if you have sports questions, I have answers!
